The Verve Document Classification Engine provides a quick and easy way to identify documents.  It offers three types of classification templates: built-in templates, user-defined templates, and learned templates.

Pre-developed templates are built-in to Verve Capture and can be used in any application to identify common document types.  New built-in Classification templates are being added to Verve Capture with every release.  Examples of buit-in templates include the medical claim forms “CMS”, “UB04”, and “ADA”.

Custom templates can be quickly and easily created using the powerful Verve Design Module.   You can use regular expressions, easy expressions and words as template identifiers.  Each identifier can be weighted to provide extra certainty.

Optionally, you can enable the the Verve Automated Classification engine within your Verve capture application.  The Verve Automated Classification engine analyses the features and text of documents captured in your workflow and then creates templates for every document type.  The more documents that Verve captures, the more that Verve will automatically adapt to better identify your documents.

In addition to the standard Verve engine, Verve also implements third-party classification engines.  Currently, Verve supports iCapt, and more third-party engines will be added as necessary.

As you can see, the Verve Classification module allows you to create classification zones. Each Classification zone contains anchors with a keyword and a weight.
